Bellevue (Neb.) and Dickinson State (N.D.) end season in NAIA Baseball National Tournament Opening Round

Bruins and Blue Hawks eliminated from national postseason play Tuesday

UPLAND, Ind., and LEWISTON, Idaho – Two North Star Athletic Association teams will be in action in the 2025 NAIA Baseball National Tournament Opening Round, which begins Monday at campus sites announced by the NAIA.

Bellevue (Neb.) (40-13 overall record) is the first NSAA representative as they claimed the regular season title with 19-1 conference record.  The Bruins also rolled in the NSAA postseason tournament title.

Bellevue is placed in the Upland, Ind., bracket, hosted by top-seeded Taylor (Ind.).  The Bruins are the No. 2 seed and will play No. 3 seed Kansas Wesleyan in the opening round Monday at 1 p.m. (Eastern Time)/12 p.m. (Central Time). 

The other pairing features Taylor taking on No. 4 seed Grand View (Iowa) on Monday at 5 p.m. (ET)/4 p.m. (CT).
The four-team pod continues in a double elimination format on Tuesday, Wednesday, and with an if necessary game on Thursday.

Dickinson State (N.D.) (21-29 overall record) is the second representative for the North Star Athletic Association after earning a runner-up honor in the postseason tournament.  The Blue Hawks were placed in the Lewiston, Idaho, as the No. 5 seed.

Dickinson State opens their national tournament play on Monday at 1 p.m. (CT)/12 p.m. (Mountain Time)/11 a.m. (Pacific Time) versus No. 4 seed Oregon Tech.  The winner of this game will play their second game on the same day against No. 1 seed Hope International (Calif.) at 8 p.m. (CT)/7 p.m. (MT)/6 p.m. (PT).

The other opening round pairing included No. 2 seed Wayland Baptist (Texas) taking on the host team and No. 3 seed Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) at 4:30 p.m. (CT)/3:30 p.m. (MT)/2:30 p.m. (PT).

The five-team pod continues their action in a double elimination format on Tuesday, Wednesday, and with an if necessary game on Thursday.

The 10 NAIA opening round winners will advance to the final site hosted by Lewis-Clark State for the Avista-NAIA World Series on May 23-31.
