BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) is pleased to announce their final scholar-athletes for the 2024-25 winter and spring seasons Tuesday. A total of 583 student-athletes received this prestigious conference academic award.
The 583 recipients, competing in winter and spring sports (women’s and men’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, women’s and men’s track & field, softball, and baseball), were recognized for their outstanding academic accomplishment in the classroom and on the playing field.
To be eligible for the NSAA Academic Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must achieve a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and participate in a junior varsity or varsity contest. In addition to the criteria, each athlete must be certified on an eligibility certificate, excluding freshman redshirts.
Dakota State registered the most with 129 scholar-athletes. Jamestown (N.D.) recorded 113 conference scholar-athletes, followed by Dickinson State (N.D.) with 111 scholar-athletes. Valley City State (N.D.) tallied 105 scholar-athletes, Mayville State (N.D.) with 66 scholar-athletes, and Bellevue (Neb.) with 59 scholar-athletes.
