2023-24 NSAA Women’s Basketball All-Conference Teams & Postseason Awards announced

Zrust (POY), Teel (DOY), Moore (NPOY), Dial (FPOY), and Moe (COY) received NSAA postseason awards

BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced their 2023-24 women’s basketball All-Conference teams and postseason awards Monday afternoon.

Mayville State (N.D.) and Dakota State (S.D.) shared the North Star women’s basketball conference regular-season title with an 11-1 record each.  Both teams will be meeting in the NSAA championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m., held at Lewy Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville, N.D.

MSU (ranked No. 12 in the latest NAIA national poll) and DaSU (ranked No. 10 in the national poll) will most likely advance to the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament First and Second Rounds on March 15-16.  The sites for those first and second rounds will be announced Thursday by the NAIA national office.    

Jordan Zrust of Mayville State (N.D.) was voted as the North Star Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Year for the second straight year.  Tabor Teel of DaSU was named as the Defensive Player-of-the-Year.  Gabby Moore of Bellevue (Neb.) earned the NSAA’s Newcomer-of-the-Year award.  Brooke Dial of Waldorf (Iowa) was selected as the league’s Freshman-of-the-Year. 

David Moe of Dakota State was voted as the North Star’s Coach-of-the-Year award for the fifth consecutive year.

The following athletes were selected by the conference head coaches as All-Conference First and Second Teams.  There is a list of Honorable Mention team.  In addition, there is a five-member NSAA All-Defense Team.
