BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association announced their sixth edition of women’s and men’s cross-country Runners-of-the-Week Tuesday. Karly Just of Valley City State (N.D.) was selected as the Women’s Runner-of-the-Week for the second straight week. Richard Marcoux of Bellevue (Neb.) was named as the Men’s Runner-of-the-Week.
NSAA Women’s Cross-Country Runner-of-the-Week
Karly Just – Valley City State (N.D.) – Junior – LaMoure, N.D. – Just bested her own school record 6K time at the NCAA Division II University of Mary (N.D.) Marauders Open for Valley City State (N.D.). She clocked a time of 22 minutes, 27.8 seconds, finishing seventh individually. Just was the top NAIA finisher behind runners from NCAA Division II Mary and Minto State (N.D.).
NSAA Men’s Cross-Country Runner-of-the-Week
Richard Marcoux – Bellevue (Neb.) – Senior – Omaha, Neb. – Marcoux was eighth overall in the field of 182 runners in the Dordt (Iowa) Holiday Inn Express Classic, leading Bellevue (Neb.) to a fourth-place team finish. He established a new 8K school record time of 25 minutes, 17.2 seconds, eclipsing his previous record by 11 seconds.
Looking Ahead
No North Star Athletic Association members will be in cross country action this weekend. Bellevue (Neb.), Dakota State (S.D.), Dickinson State (N.D.), and Jamestown (N.D.) will be competing in the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, hosted by Doane (Neb.), on Saturday, Oct. 26, in Ashland, Neb.
