The 2024 North Star Athletic Association Men’s Cross Country title belongs to Bellevue University after the Bruins secured the top three individual finishes Friday morning at the NSAA Championships. The conference meet was hosted by Valley City State University at the Valley City Town & Country Club in Valley City.

Bellevue recorded 28 points (1, 2, 3, 7, 15) at the meet to secure the title by a 25-point margin. Dakota State placed second with 53 points (4, 6, 13, 14, 16). Dickinson State took third with 66 points (5, 9, 12, 17, 23), while Jamestown came in fourth at 78 (8, 10, 11, 24, 25) and Valley City State (N.D.) finished fifth with 137 (21, 27, 28, 29, 32).

Bellevue will represent the NSAA at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships on Friday, Nov. 22, at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.

Xavier Mallow of Bellevue won the 2024 NSAA Men’s Cross Country individual title, and was named the conference Runner of the Year with a time of 26:06.2.

The Top 10 finishers in the conference meet are all named to the NSAA All-Conference team.

The top four finishers not on the championship team advance to National Meet as individual qualifiers including Caleb Sayler of Dakota State, Caleb Sarsland of Dickinson State, Taylor Myers of Dakota State and Cole Campbell of University of Jamestown.

Craig Christians of Bellevue was named the NSAA Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.

The NSAA Champions of Character recipients are Richard Marcoux (Bellevue), Caleb Sayler (Dakota State), Griffin Obrigewitch (Dickinson State), Clark Lortscher (Jamestown) and Tate Minnihan (Valley City State).
