BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association announced their fifth edition of women’s and men’s cross-country Runners-of-the-Week Tuesday. Karly Just of Valley City State (N.D.) was selected as the Women’s Runner-of-the-Week. Caleb Sarsland of Dickinson State (N.D.) was named as the Men’s Runner-of-the-Week.
NSAA Women’s Cross-Country Runner-of-the-Week
Karly Just – Valley City State (N.D.) – Junior – LaMoure, N.D. – Just was the top NAIA runner in the Jamestown (N.D.) Jimmie Invitational for Valley City State (N.D.). She finished third individual with a time of the 23 minutes, 24.7 seconds, and was the only NAIA runner to place in the top 10. Just finished just two seconds off from her own school record 6K time, featuring runners from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA schools.
NSAA Men’s Cross-Country Runner-of-the-Week
Caleb Sarsland – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Bowman, N.D. – Sarsland was the top NAIA runner in the Jamestown (N.D.) Jimmie Invitational for Dickinson State (N.D.). He posted his personal record time of 25 minutes, 52 seconds in the 8K racecourse. Sarsland finished fourth overall individually, featuring runners from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA schools.
Looking Ahead
Valley City State (N.D.) competes in the NCAA Division II meet, the Marauders Open hosted by NCAA Division II Mary (N.D.) in Bismarck, N.D., on Friday.
Bellevue (Neb.) and Dakota State (S.D.) return to action Saturday morning as they run in the Defender Holiday Inn Express, hosted by Dordt (Iowa) in Sioux Center, Iowa.
