KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2024 Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Track & Field Scholar-Athletes Tuesday. The 2024 list features 873 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution.
Thirty-two (32) athletes from the North Star Athletic Association institutions were named to Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Track & Field Scholar-Athletes. Dakota State (S.D.) leads the league with 19 recipients. Dickinson State (N.D.) had six honorees on the national list, followed by Bellevue (Neb.) and Viterbo (Wis.) with three recipients each. Waldorf (Iowa) registered two scholar-athletes, while Valley City State (N.D.) added one honoree.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
The three-day NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships officially kicked off today (Wednesday) at Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Ind. The national outdoor track & field meet runs through Friday.
