DICKINSON, N.D. – In a historic conclusion to the North Star Athletic Association era, Dickinson State University claimed the 2025 NSAA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship, scoring 305.5 points to end Dakota State’s five-year title streak and secure the final men’s trophy in conference history.
Dakota State University placed second with 251 points, followed by the University of Jamestown (143.5), Valley City State University (73), and Bellevue University (62).
The Blue Hawks’ championship featured multiple wins across sprints, distance, and field events. Kohbe Smith earned the NSAA Men’s Field Athlete of the Year after winning the triple jump and 200 meters. DSU also took gold in the 4x100-meter relay (41.50), the pole vault (Adrien Calderon), javelin (Porter Kreider), shot put (Corbin Harris), and long jump (Ashton Judge).
Dakota State’s Chantz Minear was named NSAA Men’s MVP after racking up points in five individual events, including wins in the 110-meter hurdles (14.60), 400-meter hurdles (52.67), and several decathlon disciplines. Lukas Bennett was honored as NSAA Men’s Track Athlete of the Year following his 100-meter title (10.71) and key relay legs.
Dawson Sedivec of Jamestown shared Field Athlete of the Year honors with Smith after winning the hammer throw (59.70m) and placing in the discus.
