BISMARCK, N.D. – Dickinson State (N.D.) is the No. 1 seed for the upcoming 2025 North Star Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Postseason Tournament, which begins with the quarterfinals round on Wednesday (Feb. 26). The Blue Hawks (17-10 overall record) earned the outright regular season title with a 12-3 conference record.
Jamestown (N.D.) (16-12 overall record, 11-4 NSAA) is the No. 2 seed for the postseason conference tournament. Both DiSU and UJ received the opening round byes and will host the semifinal game on Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. local time.
There was one tie in the NSAA Men’s Basketball standings between Bellevue (Neb.) and Dakota State (S.D.) for fifth place with 4-11 conference record each. The Bruins owned the tiebreaker over the Trojans based on head-to-head record (2-1 record), with BU earning the No. 5 seed.
The quarterfinals open with No. 3 seed Mayville State (N.D.) (18-10 overall record, 9-6 NSAA) hosting No. 6 seed Dakota State (S.D.) (11-16 overall record) on Wednesday. No. 4 seed Valley City State (N.D.) (14-13 overall record, 5-10 NSAA) will also be home on the same night, hosting No. 5 seed Bellevue (12-16 overall record). Each game is set for 7 p.m.
The semifinal contests on Saturday, March 1 will feature Dickinson State hosting the winner of VCSU-BU, while Jamestown welcomes the winner of MSU-DaSU.
The North Star Athletic Association men’s basketball postseason championship game will be held on Tuesday, March 4 at the highest remaining seed (tentatively set for 7 p.m., unless there is a doubleheader with the women’s championship game).
The NSAA postseason tournament champion earns an automatic bid to the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Tournament’s opening round. The national tournament four-teams pod first- and second-rounds are scheduled for March 14-15.
The winners of the NAIA’s opening round will advance to the final site at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., on March 20-25.
