Kansas City, Kan. — Dickinson State senior guard Kose Egbule capped off a stellar career with national recognition, earning a spot on the NAIA Men's Basketball All-America Third Team.
Egbule, a 6-foot-2 guard from Houston, Texas, averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over 30 games this season while shooting 45.5% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range. He started 28 games for the Blue Hawks and emerged as one of the most consistent and versatile players in the North Star Athletic Association, being named the league's Player of the Year by the coaches.
"This is amazing for Kose and our program," said head coach Derek Selvig. "Receiving this kind of recognition speaks to Kose's work ethic and improvement over the years. He has been one of the hardest working players I have ever been around and he has earned this award."
Egbule's impact was felt on both ends of the floor. He led the Blue Hawks in rebounding and was second in scoring, helping guide DSU to a 19-11 overall record and a 12-3 mark in conference play. He recorded 216 total rebounds, including 51 on the offensive glass, and posted a 1.2 assist-to-turnover ratio while tallying 34 steals.
His strong play down the stretch helped propel Dickinson State to both the NSAA regular season and tournament titles. The Blue Hawks earned a trip to the NAIA National Tournament, where their season ended with a first-round loss to Dordt (Iowa).
The All-America honor punctuates a career defined by growth, leadership, and relentless effort—qualities that Selvig and the Blue Hawk program hope to build upon in seasons to come.
