BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association Golfers-of-the-Week announced their tenth edition of the Golfers-of-the-Week honors Tuesday.  Celi Nelson of Jamestown (N.D.) was selected the Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week.  Cayden Wynne of Bellevue (Neb.) was named the Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week. 

NSAA Women’s Golfer of the Week
Celi Nelson – Jamestown (N.D.) – Junior – Ashby, Minn. – Nelson shot 80 strokes (8-over-par) to capture the Dickinson State (N.D.) Invitational title for Jamestown (N.D.).  The event was shortened to one day due to inclement weather.  The tournament saw winds blowing at 25-35 miles-per-hour with rain and sleet with temperatures in the 30’s.  Nelson won the tournament by three strokes and helped the Jimmies to win the team event.

NSAA Men’s Golfer of the Week
Cayden Wynne – Bellevue (Neb.) – Senior – Lincoln, Neb. – Wynne won the individual title at the Midwest Spring National Invitational in Manhattan, Kan., for Bellevue (Neb.).  He shot 7-under-par, going under par in two of the three rounds.  Wynne shot a round of 70 strokes (2-under-par) in the first round and fired a round of 67 strokes (5-under-par) in the second round and finished the tournament with 72 strokes (even-par) in the third round.  He helped the Bruins to a first-place team finish in the tournament, which included No. 5 ranked Friends (Kan.) in the field.

Looking Ahead (Men’s/Women’s)
Bellevue (Neb.) women’s continues their action in the Kaitlyn Erickson Doane (Neb.) Invitational Tuesday (today).  They are scheduled to compete in the two-day Bent Tree Invitational on April 21-22 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Dickinson State (N.D.), Jamestown (N.D.), Mayville State (N.D.), and Valley City State (N.D.) are scheduled to play in the DJGA College Invitational in Bismarck, N.D. on April 22-23 (hosted by Bismarck State).
