Dakota State (S.D.) currently holds the early lead in the NSAA women’s standing with 13 points after the heptathlon.  Kaitlyn McColly of DiSU won her second straight conference heptathlon after tying her conference meet record of 4,682 points.

On the men’s division, the Trojans had won the previous five North Star Athletic Association conference team titles.

Dakota State leads the men’s team standings after scoring 26 points, thanks to a pair of athletes placing in the top two spots in the decathlon.  Chantz Minear edged his teammate by five points to win the conference decathlon (6,455 points to 6,450 points).

Dickinson State is second in the men’s standing with ten points.

The NSAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships are scored in eight places in all events (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1).  The All-Conference performances need to be placed in the top three in individual events and top two teams in the relay events.
