Blue Hawk Women Pursue Eighth Straight NSAA Title, Lead After Day One

DICKINSON, N.D. – The Dickinson State women's track and field team began their quest for an eighth consecutive NSAA Outdoor Championship with a commanding performance on Thursday, leading the standings after Day One of the 2025 North Star Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Biesiot Activities Center.

The Blue Hawks amassed 111 points, establishing a 33-point advantage over second-place Dakota State (78). Jamestown (46) and Valley City State (41) follow in third and fourth, respectively.

Dickinson State secured five individual event titles on the day. Senior Kaitlyn McColly triumphed in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.25 seconds, while fellow senior Jewel Olson dominated the 400-meter dash, finishing in 55.91 seconds.

In field events, the Blue Hawks excelled. Madison Wahl cleared 3.65 meters to win the pole vault, and Faith Brennan captured the triple jump title with a leap of 11.71 meters.

Dakota State maintained competitive pressure, winning the 4x800-meter relay in 9:53.06 and seeing Casey Olson take the javelin throw with a distance of 40.38 meters.

Valley City State's Karly Just contributed significantly, winning the 10,000-meter run in 40:04.61.
